Your free Arts and Culture Benchmark Report FY24/25

In 2024–25, Culture Counts subscribers across Australia, New Zealand and Asia collected feedback from over 130,000 survey respondents – including arts attendees, participants and artists. The data captures the powerful role of cultural events in sparking creativity, fostering connection, promoting inclusion and enriching quality of life. This benchmark report presents a snapshot of insights from 114 organisations and 839 surveys across the cultural sector.

The findings offer interesting insights into the demographic mix, location and experience of respondents. A key focus of the data is the important outcomes generated by arts and cultural organisations through their evaluated events, programs and activities, including:

  • Aesthetic Experience: It gave me a sense of joy, beauty and wonder – median score of 88 (out of 100)
  • Inclusion: It made me feel welcome and included – median score of 86 (out of 100)
  • Challenge: It challenged me to think in a different way – median score of 75 (out of 100)
  • Enthusiasm: I would come to something like this again – median score of 88 (out of 100)
