Next Wave is a platform for supporting a new generation of Australian artists to take creative risks, develop their careers, and take responsibility for the social, cultural, political and environmental impact of their work. Next Wave takes a leading role advocating for broad accessibility and best practice in sustainability.
Next Wave is currently using Culture Counts to measure the impact of their 2018 biennial festival on artists, volunteers, staff, the artistic community and festival attendees. Culture Counts’ standardised dimensions are used to measure artistic quality, cultural pride, community connection, accessibility and inclusivity as assessed by diverse audiences with varying needs and abilities. These measures are integrated with economic impact analysis to provide a holistic account of value.
A growing number of arts and cultural organisations are using Culture Counts to measure the varied and unique impacts of their own events and programs. This enables them to tell richer stories about their importance in society, to attract greater support and resources for themselves and the sector.
